The selection of dishes at Berggasthof Hunerkogel offers a variety of traditional Austrian dishes. The choice ranges from hearty soups and roasts to regional meat and vegetable specialties, complemented by vegetarian and vegan options. Homemade "Kaiserschmarrn" (shredded pancakes) and cream cakes such as Malakoff, Sacher, or strawberry yogurt, as well as ice cream from the Kirchgasshof in Filzmoos, round off the selection. A special children's menu is also available.
Special occasions such as christenings, birthdays or weddings are given a special setting at the Berggasthof Hunerkogel. The rustic dining rooms, with their open fireplaces and panoramic windows, offer an alpine atmosphere for small and medium-sized groups. Children will find plenty of space to play at the Berggasthof Hunerkogel. The on-site playground features a bouncy castle, an outdoor skittle alley, a slackline and an electric go-kart track. A special attraction is the goat enclosure with two goats that can be stroked and fed. Dishes such as spaghetti, schnitzel or chicken nuggets provide the necessary refuelling after play.
The Berggasthof Hunerkogel is situated at 1,700 meters in a sunny location directly at the foot of the Dachstein massif. Arrival is via the panoramic road from Ramsau am Dachstein. Parking spaces are available directly at the building. Alternatively, a bus runs to the Türlwandhütte stop, which is only 200 meters away from the inn.
For athletes at the Trainingbase Dachstein, the Berggasthof Hunerkogel provides the ideal culinary foundation. The dishes are specifically designed to meet the requirements of high-altitude training, combining high-quality proteins with complex carbohydrates. Regional ingredients provide the necessary energy and support rapid recovery after training sessions. This ensures that athletes receive light, nutrient-dense meals that are perfectly tailored to their individual needs for competition preparation.
From mid/late May to October, the restaurant is open to external guests, offering an à la carte menu. During the winter months, the restaurant is reserved exclusively for hotel guests on a bed-and-breakfast or half-board basis.
For all à la carte guests at the Berggasthof Hunerkogel, the toll for the drive up the Dachstein Road is completely free of charge in the evening between 5.30 pm (entry) and midnight (exit). This offer is exclusively for restaurant guests. As seats are in high demand in the evening, advance table reservations are required.
