A truly unique animal adventure awaits you on a day trip to Donnersbachwald (approx. 70 km from the Berggasthof Hunerkogel). Probably the highest-altitude animal park in the world, it features impressive, oversized figures carved from local wood, standing 3 to 4 metres tall. What makes it special: each animal has a small play area inside for children to explore and climb around in. Once the children have had a good run about, they can learn interesting facts about foxes, deer and other animals from colourfully illustrated books.
The KRISPINI treasure hunt on the Riesneralm is a themed walk designed to make the climb fun and engaging for children. There are a total of nine puzzle stations along hiking trail no. 21 from the middle station (Berghof) to the top station (Hochsitz). The aim of the treasure hunt is to reconstruct a lost combination of numbers. Each correctly solved puzzle provides part of the code, which can be used at the end to open the treasure chest at 1,820 metres above sea level on the mountain summit.
Tip: With the Dachstein Summer Card, you get one free return trip on the Riesneralm cable car every day!
