The winter hike begins directly at Berggasthof Hunerkogel and initially leads along the ski path towards the Brandalm. The path continues to the panoramic bend at the Dachsteinhaus, which offers a wide view over the Enns Valley. The route back follows the lower alpine path to the Walcheralm. From there, it is a leisurely walk back to the starting point at the Berggasthof. This winter hiking trail offers an ideal combination of gentle exercise and impressive panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

The hike begins at the mountain station of the Dachstein Glacier cable car and leads across the extensive glacier trail. On this high-alpine route, the "Kolk" at the Dirndl—a massive, wind-sculpted snow ridge—is particularly impressive. The groomed path winds gently uphill toward the Hoher Dachstein as far as the Seethalerhütte. Situated directly at the Dachstein South Face, the hut offers spectacular views and a special atmosphere amidst the eternal ice. For a safe experience on the glacier, staying on the marked trails is an absolute must. This applies without exception, including when taking holiday photos.
